Costa Rica Lifestyle

If you love adventure, you can find it in Costa Rica. Magnificent natural surroundings blend with an incredible diversity of living things to make it one of the world’s premier eco-destinations. There are many ways to experience the beauty of Costa Rica for yourself. For the sports enthusiast, there are world class surf breaks, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, bicycling, golfing, and hiking. For the student of nature, there are butterfly farms, turtle nesting sites, whale watching, dolphin swims, botanical gardens and bird watching par excellence. There are different ways to encounter it: canopy tours of the rain forest, ATV tours, hang gliding, horseback riding, or traditional festivals. The gracious hospitality of the Costa Rican people is a highlight.

For those who wish to escape from stress, there are miles of empty beaches fringed by palm trees for quiet walks, magnificent sunsets over the Pacific, or the peaceful sound of water trickling over the rocks of a waterfall.

Mountainous Costa Rica is called the Switzerland of Central America because it has no standing army, has long enjoyed political stability and has the healthiest economy in Latin America. Americans are coming in record numbers for tourism and to make investments in this friendly country. Its affordability and delightful climate makes it a great destination for vacation homes or retirement plans.

Parrita, on the central Pacific coast, is an ideal location from which to enjoy the many charms of Costa Rica. As you approach it on the coastal highway you will notice lush palm oil plantations and teak farms. The town itself is 10 minutes from Ranchos Las Lomas. This area has been less influenced by tourism so you will find that the restaurants, shops and other commercial establishments are Tico. A half hour to its north in the beach town of Jaco (40km north of Parrita), you can find everything from American style supermarkets, to hardware stores, to beauty spas, as well as a lively restaurant and bar scene. Closer to Parrita are the beaches of Hermosa, renowned for its consistent surf break, Esterillos and Bejuco. Beyond Parrita 22km to the south is the town of Quepos and beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park, one of the most visited destinations in the entire country.
